Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)

As an Oracle DBA, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our Oracle database systems.

Responsibilities

- Perform regular maintenance and monitoring of Oracle database systems to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security.

- Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database software and related products.

- Design and implement backup and recovery strategies to safeguard critical data.

- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner, including performance tuning, database corruption, and connectivity problems.

- Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and other IT staff to support database-driven applications and resolve integration issues.

- Implement and enforce database security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

- Perform database capacity planning and resource utilization analysis to anticipate future growth and scalability needs.

- Document database configurations, procedures, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure consistency in system administration tasks.

- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to database-related emergencies outside of regular business hours as needed.

Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Minimum of three years of hands-on experience as an Oracle Database Administrator in a production environment.

- Proficiency in Oracle database administration tasks, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security management.

- Strong understanding of Oracle database architecture, SQL, PL/SQL, and database design principles.

- Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and other database administration tools.

- Solid understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

- Oracle certification (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional) is a plus.
